NOT friends only 8D

Hi, my name is Ginny, and emotional constipation and multi-fandom whoring are my game.
This place is born of rock n' roll, shiny feathers, magic wands and rainbow socks,
so feel free to add me up and comment whenever you want! :D

If I start LJ-ing again, will people still be interested? I have nothing but real life going on for me at the moment.

More importantly--will I actually be able to do it?

HI GUYS. I watched the One Direction movie in 3D last Monday and LOVED IT.

Yesterday, I read this article from a Canadian blogger about why local arts scenes are dying and posted about it on my Facebook (yeah, we've already established that I don't give much of a shit about fandom-RL exclusivity -- add me up there if you feel the same way! I've already been friends with a handful of LJ and Tumblr folks for at least a year lol), and I didn't realise I had so many feelings about our local arts scene until I started discussing it with various friends afterwards.

Which is a little weird because I've been into the arts since I was very little? Into it meaning I've been exposed to musicales since age five (Les Miserables was my first love) and grew up with a former-singer-performer mother and enjoyed doodling since god-knows-when, but never really did much to hone it--with the exception of being active in school plays during elementary and high school, and taking a lot of performance arts classes and doing a lot of video assignments at uni (I was a Communications/Media Arts student *shrug*). So I guess part of the feelings also came from my frustrations with not being able to fully pursue anything creative? So now I'm living vicariously through my artist friends by going to their events and pimping them out, while I struggle to help my family get out of the financial shit we're in on the side even though I can never say that I'd ever be happy with corporate life.

Heh, yeah. I think this pretty much replaces what fandom life I used to have. An existential crisis.

Oh, wow. Um. Hi. I recently got cherrybina to friend me here after having said that I use LJ for RL stuff I can't tell just anyone, too, and it made me realise that I haven't been using LJ in the past few months at all? I am horrid. I have allowed the rest of my life to take over my YOLO (You Only Live Online). Let's try to fix that now.

Yeah, okay, I got nothing.

Edit. I still owe claudine and copperiisulfate the details behind #myfanficlyf. SOON.

This is my first day off from EVERYTHING (work, school & home--I stay with my grandparents on weekdays and only go home to my family for the weekend but instead of that being relaxing, it's usually quite hectic because being around my mum can be quite a challenge that way; still love her though) in a while, and I'm more stressed out than usual. I can name two reasons behind this:

One, even though I'm not in the office or at school, I still can't help but think of homework and my deliverables for the following week. The school stuff is all group work, but I'm the leader for one project and I--why. And then so much pending shit for the day job. Plus freelance, because I need money, being the family cash cow and all.

Two, I'd missed out on two activities that I really wanted to join this weekend. Was invited to climb Mt Pulag (one of the most famous places to climb in the Philippines) some time ago but immediately had to decline because [bit of tmi]I knew the trip was going to fall on the week of my period. And true enough, I got my period last Wednesday-- so even though one person kept trying to convince me to go up until the last minute, I really couldn't say yes. Then as luck would have it, [bit of tmi again]my body decides to stop bleeding last night, the very night everyone left Manila for the trip. It would have still been fine and dandy because Stars is playing here tonight and I've been told that they are truly wonderful live. But. Tickets sold out the moment I managed to have enough money to buy one. So.

I'm just going to do freelance stuff instead. And then go home to my Mum in the evening. Home-made meals are always the best.

In lighter news, IHOP opened here yesterday so I went to check it out with friends for our weekly session of Fitness Eating (usually scheduled on Thursday but we made an exception this week because Valentine's crowd dnw 8D), where we are constantly left to suspect whether all the restaurants we dine in spike their food and drinks with marijuana--or wonder if it's really just us. ABS (A Big Stomach) galore.

Also, claudine has set up a Merlin/Arthur rec blog on Tumblr and made a slave fic rec list for those of you who are into that. I know I am. ;)

Also, also! Let me pimp out these songs my very good friend wrote when he was still at uni and recently re-uploaded for easier enjoyment. They're quite lovely in that feel-good, let's-relax-and-remember-the-love-we-had-and-lost sort of way. OOPS I MERLIN/ARTHUR FEELS'D ALL OVER THE FLOOR AGAIN.

Oh, and I forgot to mention last week I saw Potted Potter after a friend gave me free tickets to the show. That was a lot of fun. I got "sorted" into Slytherin for the Quidditch portion, rightfully so. *beams with pride*

*waves to new friends* Hi guys! First thing you should know about me: when I say I'm going to post an entry the following day, chances are life is going to get in my way and I won't get to do it until nearly a month later. Now that that's out of the way, um. INTRODUCTIONS!

Hi. I'm Ginny. I've been on LJ since 2003 and been a fandom junkie for even longer (my first being Harry Potter and latest being Merlin), and my fandom contributions usually comprise of fan art. These days I'm more active on Twitter (please don't let the love songs for the Pope drive you away; stuff like that only happens when I'm sleep-deprived, which is an honest-to-god (did you see what I did there 8D) very rare occurrence these days because I usually pass out the minute my knees touch the bed), Tumblr (yeeah that's my face; art tumblr is this way), and Facebook (yes I treat that as a fandom space at times as well. No, idgaf about anonymity anymore tbh), but I'm serious about rekindling my relationship with LJ because, well, I love this fucking site. Spambots and all (not really, not the spambots, no).

During the period that I had not updated here, I'd been mostly busy with RL: working at my day job as a graphic designer (I got promoted to marketing officer for creatives and digital marketing recently), going to graduate school (who needs a night life when you've got classes!), trying to survive with what little money is left with me after I've handed most of it over to my mum (Asian ProblemsTM? But for those who have been following me before, hi, my dad has a job again :'D), and barely managing to socialise but doing so regularly anyway. (Friends, y'know. I like them.)

And parenthetical interjections, evidently.

Oh, I've also finally decided to ~follow my dreams~ and go back to acting, aaand I'm in this movie. It's a stoner film that is actually an indie feature about friendships and growing up. I think it's showing this March. Also this girl is seriously hot (bit NSFW). She's not in the film but we're sharing a stylist. Hee.

Fandomwise, at the moment, I have merlinreversebb and drawmelot's Creatures Project. But after these two activities and after I've finally given the people I owe the fan art I've promised them (GINNY PLZ), I'm most likely going to lie low and steer clear from the fandom front for a while and just rant about stupid kids with claudine as we rock about in our chairs on our creaky porch (Old Ladies Club ftw). And probably keep sleeping loads. (OLD LADIES CLUUUUBBBBBB!!!1)

NOW. TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELVES, BABES--your favourite ships, the things you enjoy doing for and outside fandom, your favourite tropes, things that make you happy, things that make you sadface, your favourite bands, your favourite song by your favourite band which reminds you of your favourite ship, was it sunny or cloudy or rainy or snowy in your part of the world today, what kind of sloth would you be if you'd magically turned into one right now (I would be fabulous), etc etc etc--WHILE I PASS OUT AND REMAIN SO UNTIL I HAVE TO PANIC ABOUT GOING TO WORK AGAIN.

Old friends, go do it too. Or simply tell me, how are youuuuuuu? ILUs.

ETA. I like this new update page. It's very nifty. 8D

you know that feeling when you really really need to pee, but don’t want to get up from wherever you’re seated yet because there’s just so many awesome things to look at or read or do?

that’s exactly what i’m feeling right now with sleep.

it’s like my body can’t stop feeling all tingly and uncomfortable and desperate for me to give in already, but here i am typing away instead, and fuck it’s such a weird and annoying feeling, and fuck- that last all-nighter i puller had really exhausted the life out of me, huh? ow fuck it fucking hurts DX

k. okay. passing out now.

It is nearly 4AM on a Hell Week Night(?), and I am sitting here loading One Direction video silliness because I have just spent a little over six hours exhausting my brain and doing seemingly serious but actually pretentious (or is it the other way around?) quote-smart-end-quote person things and sometimes you just need a little bit of fluffy hair and stupid horse face and pseudo hipster assfuckery, plus the most adorable melodic choking disguised as actual singing and I didn't know you called that game "leap frog" in the US and the UK--we call it "leap cow" (luksong-baka) here, though I have a feeling they really wanted to use "carabao" instead because NATIONAL ANIMAL--plus some delicious facial bone structure in your life. Also Irish thugs. And that one that reminds me of Zac Efron, he's lovely too.

Staying at purely lurking status here, though, because. Been there, done that, etc etc etc. I absolutely loved my time in boyband RPF fandom and I learned many a fucking amazing life-changing thing during those two-three years and made such fantastic friends that drove me to be constantly creative and draw all the boys in love and with puppies as their children and, oh god, I tinhatted so hard as a teenager and it was glorious and wonderful and all that hard disk space crumbling as each week passed by... GOOD TIMES. Until it ended and America and--this icon still PAINS me when I see it, okay?

Also I'm giving myself some space from Teen Wolf fandom. Just a bit for the time being. Because Jeff Davis is starting to give me a Ryan Murphy in Glee kind of feeling. Idk, idk. Just a bit. I probably just need it so I can focus on finishing my avengers_rbb piece(s). My author partner sent me their fic today and it's very lovely~ the kind that has feelings and easy-flowing dialogues and and stuff.

Oh, LJ. I love how I can easily express myself when I'm not myself or too much of myself, a hypersensitized version if you please, without having to deal with, uh, too much publicity here. I like you, LJ. And parts of that fourth wall back, please. I just realised I might not be overly fond of it being taken away after all, Communication nerd or no.

No. No links and no sense of organization here (more so than usual anyway), ehe, because BRAIN SEEPING OUT OF MY EARS, but I developed a new skill today! :D Sleeping for two minutes every five minutes until the sleepies go away and you've programmed yourself into auto-pilot instead. Huzzah.
